Starr Herrman is recognized as a national expert for her work with high school transformation, and particularly the academy model. She was instrumental in planning, directing and implementing the smaller learning communities/academies model for the Metro Nashville Public School system from 2006 to 2012. She is a former high school teacher, CTE Director and IT manager. Since retirement in 2012, Starr has served as the Director of Consulting for the Nashville Hub, serves on the Ford NGL Leadership Council, consults with many districts across the U.S. in high school transformation and is a National Career Academy Coalition accreditation reviewer. Starr has been published and quoted in various articles and journals, presented at national conferences, webinars, and is passionate about the academy model.
